Oliva,Spain

The campsite in Oliva was right on the beach and every time I walked it I saw these little birds feeding by the sea. They would walk down to the waters edge and feed until the next wave came and then they would scuttle off up the beach only to repeat the process when the wave receeded. I had not seen this species before and later identified it as the Kentish Plover.

Garden

Finally it was time to return home and see what was happening in my own garden, a relative had kept my feeders topped up and there was no shortage of birds in the garden, a fact that had not been lost on this Sparrowhawk!
