Powys Mid Wales
A week in beautiful Mid Wales, which included a visit to Gigrin farm where every afternoon the farmer feeds the Red kites. As a rule I try to avoid posting photographs of wildlife taken at feeding sites, prefering to capture the subject in more natural circumstances, however on this occasion I have indulged myself. If you ever get the chance, please visit, it is an amazing experience. I also had the privilege (with the help of some inside information)of seeing a nest and although the bird was in the same tree she refused to pose on the nest for photographs.
Kite and nest
I was also pleased to add the following to the website
Reed Bunting
Dipper photographed on the River Wye
Goosanders
Also a chance to photograph some of the usual suspects
As usual there are more images on the individual species pages

Lakeside Eastleigh
I went back to Lakeside to see if I could get closer to the Great Crested Grebes and hopefully witness their courtship display...one out of two is not bad!

The garden
The weather was so nice today but unfortunately I had things to do, so contented myself with a short while in the garden with the camera. As the weather gets better there will be more and more wildlife emerging and although I will update these pages with a selection of new images there will always be more photos on the main species pages.

River Hamble
I have taken delivery of my new kayak which I bought with photography in mind. I paddled to the upper reaches of the River Hamble to see if it was possible to get decent images from a kayak! The following shots were all taken from the water

Hollyhill Sarisbury Hampshire
An early walk in the woods today and I heard a couple of Woodpeckers drumming and managed to get one photograph
I then watched several Long Tailed Tits feeding in the trees

Titchfield Haven and my garden
I tried to walk along the Meon canal from Titchfield today, but it was impassable, so I had to content myself with a visit to Titchfield Haven. I saw over fifty Turnstones on the beach and amongst them a solitary Dunlin.
Later in the afternoon I took some photographs in the garden and was pleased to see the Greenfinches are back.

Keyhaven
A walk at Keyhaven gave me the chance to photograph this Black tailed Godwit in the harbour.
I also managed to get several photographs of this Scandinavian Rock Pipit. Special thanks to The Hampshire Wildlife Trust for the identification.
